OUR RESEARCH
PHASE 1
The initial phase of the research project involved us speaking with both NSW Firefigthters and members of culturally-diverse community groups to gather insights into the effectiveness of current communication processes and practices.

Interviews - semi-structured interviews with selected FRNSW qualified firefighters were conducted between December 2022 and January 2023. These interviews explored 4 main themes: reach, relevance, receptiveness, and relationships.
Focus Group Discussions - initial community consultation workshops were held between November and December 2022 with Arabic-speaking, Chinese-speaking, Vietnamese-speaking and Kurmanji-speaking community groups from NSW.

PHASE 2
The final phase of the research project involved the development and testing of a proof-of-concept fire prevention and education smartphone app prototype, Ready, Set, Go!
​
User Testing Workshops - 3 x user research and testing sessions were conducted between July and September 2023.
